RAS1620 Operational Procedures

Set-up Instructions

Required Materials and Tools

  1. No hand tools are required to operate unit, e.g. wrenches, hammer, etc.
  2. Required materials to be separated from integral trailer unit
    1. One inflatable air shelter
    2. Two zip-in doors
    3. Two yellow expandable A/C ducts
    4. Two black straps to attach A/C ducts to air shelter
    5. Two ground cover tarps
    6. Air blower, air hose, and heat absorption foam pad for blower
    7. 115 volt power box
    8. Two water ballast tubes and fill hose (recommended option)

Pre-Start Checklist

  1. Check fuel level for generator
  2. Check oil level for generator
  3. Check water level for ballasts (recommended option)
  4. Confirm house or generator power transfer switch
  5. Block trailer tires to inhibit trailer movement
  6. Remove and set ground stake

Generator Start/Controls

  1. Confirm all breakers and switches are on off mode
  2. Pull choke lever to full open
  3. Turn ignition switch to start mode and release
  4. Push choke lever back to full closed
  5. Close the following breakers (in this order)
    1. Engine exhaust fan
    2. Control power
    3. A/C unit
    4. Light pole (optional)
    5. 115 volt power outlet
  6. Turn-off (close) all rocker switches at control panel (in this order)
    1. Engine exhaust fan
    2. A/C
    3. Light pole (optional)
    4. 115 volt power outlet

Air Shelter Set-Up

  1. Open back gate and release all hold down straps
  2. Place ground cover tarp
  3. Unroll air shelter on top of ground tarp
  4. Attach high pressure air inflation hose to air frame fill port
  5. Confirm all attritional air fill ports are closed
  6. Turn on air blower to inflate air shelter and provide assistance to insure the air frame is not binding or caught in the shelter
  7. Attach (zipper) water ballast tube to air shelter (recommended option)
  8. Attach hose from water tank to water ballast tube and fill with water, and then repeat to second water ballast tube (recommended option)
  9. Extend 115 volt power supply cord from trailer to shelter through the accessory port (also the air fill port)
  10. Check connections on the supply and return air ducts
  11. Connect any lighting or internal devices to 115 volt power supply
  12. Confirm proper generator operation at unit control panel

Tear Down Instructions

  1. Confirm all connections to generator
  2. Remove all items from inside shelter
  3. Confirm all people to be outside shelter
  4. Release high pressure air valve at back of shelter
  5. Connect vacuum side of air blower to high pressure fitting on shelter
  6. Start high pressure fan and evacuate all air from structural tube
  7. Drain water from ballast tubes and detach water ballast tubes
  8. Detach doors and open door flaps and store in cabinet
  9. Detach supply and return air ducts and store in cabinet
  10. Detach vacuum hose from high pressure fitting
  11. Shut down generator and lower exhaust stack
  12. Neatly fold the air shelter into thirds and roll towards storage cabinet
  13. Cover air shelter with protective trap for travel
  14. Secure straps inside shelter cabinet
  15. Lower light pole and secure to trailer
  16. Release ground stake and store in trailer frame
  17. Remove blocks from trailer tires
  18. Store all tarps and misc. parts in storage cabinet
  19. Lock all cabinet doors for travel
  20. Check for loose or missing parts
  21. Check trailer lights and trailer connection before moving
